Character Information:
Name: Samantha Eve Wilkins | Atom Eve
Canon: Invincible
Canon Point: Invincible 78, before Mark shows up to her house. She’s been through quite a lot recently - she’s had an abortion, gained weight, and her powers have been malfunctioning. Oh, and her boyfriend Mark was in space fighting aliens for a very, very long time.
Age: 20ish. It’s never explicitly stated in canon, but she was classmates with Mark so there shouldn’t be more than a difference of a few months.

Setting: The number one difference between the world Eve is from and ours are the superpowered, ranging from robots and cyborgs, science experiments, Atlanteans, people who wield magic and those who are cursed by it, aliens, and those who have powers because they just do. This version of Earth seems to be in constant danger of being destroyed, so it’s a wonder there’s a human population at all.

One of the largest threats to the human race is, of course, supervillains. These range from the Mauler Twins, a pair of clones that share all of their memories and argue over who is truly the original (despite the original having been killed off), and who don’t get much done due to these arguments, Titan, who runs an entire operation of crime, Angstrom Levy, a man with a person vendetta against Invincible (Mark Grayson) and with the ability to hop through dimensions, and a handful of otherridiculous and relatively harmless villains, but the number one danger to the human race is aliens, even if the average person doesn’t realize that.

One of the biggest threats are the Viltrumites, said to be an extremely warlike race. There were two Viltrumites on Earth - Omni-Man (Nolan Grayson) and Invincible. In a publicised fight with Mark, Nolan told his son (and subsequently the entire world due to leaked audio) that he was sent to Earth to prepare the planet for take over, and that everything the world had known about Omni-Man was a lie. Mark refused to believe him, and the resulting fight left thousands injured, hundreds dead, and the world uneasy. Since Nolan leaving the Earth the Viltrumites have left the takeover to Mark, and two separate Viltrumites have come to check up on him - Anissa and Conquest. Conquest destroyed a lot of property and killed a few villains, but he was defeated by Mark and is presumed dead.

Another Viltrumite event worth mention is the Invincible War. Angstrom Levy used his dimension hopping abilities to pull in versions of Mark Grayson from across them so he could enact vengeance. Thousands of lives were lost, many cities were destroyed, but humanity (with the help of it’s heroes), managed to pull through but with Conquest’s appearance happening so soon afterwards, it will take a long, long time for the world to pull itself together.

There are plenty of organizations to protect the world, though. There’s the Guardians of the Globe, a group incorporated with the government led by a hero simply known as the Immortal (because he’s immortal, duh), and there’s also Capes Inc., a corporation run out of New York. Invincible Inc. was started by Eve and Mark as a way to earn money without the aid of Cecil (a top-secret government agent who had hired Mark). They focused mainly on helping prisons and other places that were frequently destroyed by villains. While Mark is away, a hero named Bulletproof takes up the mantle of Invincible and helps keep things under control. The company was formed largely in response to Mark and Cecil disagreeing on how things should be done and what Mark’s role should be, causing Mark to quit his government-funded job.

Personality: Eve is an intelligent woman. She’s smart enough to be able to break something down to it’s atomic structure and then completely rewrite it to make it something new. She was gifted with a head for science, even being accepted to a highly prestigious school because she was so gifted. (Unfortunately, this gift did not carry over to other subjects.) Eve doesn’t flaunt her intelligence in obvious ways. She knows she is more than capable in many ways, and while she can begrudge those who don’t see her that way, she’s not going to purposefully rub her abilities and intelligence in people’s faces.

This is largely due to Eve being a kind, caring woman. She’s passionate about helping others, foregoing college so she could go and help poor African villages by manipulating their surroundings to be more hospitable from afar. As she grew up she began to feel like she could be doing so much more with her powers then fighting villains, and she wanted to help people who couldn’t help themselves because she was gifted.

Plus she had grown a bit bitter towards the whole superhero scene. She had been angered and hurt by Rex Splode’s infidelity, and she couldn’t stand that most people didn’t understand what, exactly her powers were. (Of course, most people really just boiled down to Rex, who she called a moron.) Eve never quite forgave Rex, because for as much as she can be sweet and kind, she’s not a forgive and forget kind of person. She’s bitter to her parents for how they treat her and how they just completely ignore the fact that she’s extremely powerful, but she’s civil. She’s respectful, to a point, and while she can carry a grudge for years she’s not going to purposefully try to find a way to hurt them. She may be bitter, and she may have been a woman scorned, she’s not petty.

She’s extremely self-conscious of her figure. She worries about being unwanted because of her weight gain, and is unhappy with herself. She reacted to stress by overeating, and she criticises herself for doing it. She’s harsher on herself than anyone else could be, and she doesn’t want to be seen as disgusting by those she cares for. She’s ashamed of herself, but mostly it came as a result of her loneliness. Eve is smart, witty, kind - all traits that would make for a popular girl, but the fact that she was a superhero made her different in a way that not many people could relate to. She desperately wanted people to relate to, but after leaving the superhero business she effectively cut off her socialization with others, and when she returned to the business she still felt like something was missing. Her relationship with Mark is healthy, because she feels like he’s someone who can understand her, but she still can’t help but feel isolated from the Earth’s population. She doesn’t need much attention or many friends, but not having people she could talk to about her problems made her guarded and led to her closing herself off from getting too attached with others or being too open with her emotions. She had to hide her powers, so why not hide who she is at her core? It, for a long time, seemed like the best thing for her.

Despite her insecurities, Eve tends to be the voice of calm for everyone else. She’s gentle and reassuring, getting along well with those that haven’t wound up on her shit list. She can perform exceptionally well under pressure, and doesn’t often lose her head. She’s observant and quick on her feet, which made her quite the asset when it came to crime fighting. She doesn’t often times worry or freak out over anything, and she can handle most anything life throws at her. She follows both her heart and her mind, doing what she feels and knows is best for her and those around her. She’s logical and, again, intelligent, but she does go with her gut and doesn’t ignore what her heart wants.

This all means that anything she feels about being stuck in a place between life and death isn’t going to openly phase her. Of course, she’s not going to be okay with it in the slightest, but not because of what the world she’s in now is. She had a life back home, a job - a responsibility. She doesn’t want to leave that behind, nor does she want to leave behind those she holds dear. She won’t be afraid of the place, as she’s died before and was able to pull herself back, but she would much rather be home and able to protect people and make a difference. It will take a period of adjustment, but if she can find a way to help and provide for the people she meets, she’ll miss home just a little bit less. She needs to throw herself into her work, and she’ll adapt to her new life in this strange new place well enough. After all, strange is nothing new to a superhero.

Appearance: Eve is curvy (really, chubby might be a better word) and fair-skinned, with long, red hair and green eyes. You can see her (in costume) here.

Abilities: The ability to manipulate inorganic matter and, if under enough stress, the ability to manipulate organic matter. She can fly and form barriers by changing air density, and she is also capable transforming objects from one thing into another (she was able to turn the African savannah into a grassy paradise and create housing, and she made her own house and food). She had a mental block installed to keep her from being able to manipulate organic matter, because the scientist who created her feared she would become too dangerous, but she has broken this block twice. Once, she wiped the memories of the man who killed the scientist, and the second time she was able to bring herself back to life.

Inventory: Just her Invincible, Inc. cellphone, which will be non-functioning, and the clothing she’s wearing.

Suite: Earth, with no preference for a suite. Her and Mark are together for a reason, sharing the same motivation to help the world. She’s even-tempered for the most part, and extremely passionate about what she does. Not to mention the theme of art and creation that seems to make up the sector, what with the statues and the sewing businesses, and creation is a large part of who she is.

In-Character Samples:
Third Person: It had taken her a while to adjust. The turtle, which was strange enough on it’s own, was far different than anywhere she had ever been before. It was nothing like the wilds of Africa, nothing like the city or the suburbs. It was...different. There were so many people there with absurd, ridiculous stories (some of which even she had a hard time believing, and she was created by a scientist and given to a different family to be raised), and people from such wildly different cultures and worlds. To say that there was a bit of a culture shock on the turtle would be an understatement.

But she coped. That was what she did - she would handle this. She could handle things much worse than this, and it was easy enough to ignore the fact that this place was some supposed in between. She would make herself be okay with that, because she had to be strong. She had to make sure she was whole and sane when she returned home, and it could be much, much worse on the turtle. Though, really, a giant moving turtle was pretty fascinating. She really wondered how it had come to be, but she didn’t want to just ask anyone. Most people there probably wouldn’t know, considering...they were all brought in from strange places, so how many people even knew every little thing about this place?

Besides, she could find better things to worry about than how an island turtle could function. She didn’t know how long she would be away from home, and she couldn’t spend all of her days doing absolutely nothing. She needed to find something to do before she died of boredom.

So she found herself wandering around rather aimlessly, which was more than a little counterproductive. Hopefully she would stumble upon something, or someone, interesting. Preferably a someone, because she could really use some company right now. Just to talk, maybe even gossip. It would...It would be nice.

Network: [She’s more nervous than she’d like to admit. She’s dealt with some crazy things - scientists, debatably evil government officials, aliens. It all was part of being a superhero. She can handle crazy things happening, but there was something about being stuck in a place between life and death that put her on edge.

She sighs, softly, frowning at the communicator.]

So...Ugh, this is awkward.

To anyone seeing this, can anyone tell me if... [She swallows. It’s been so, so long since she’s seen mark, and now that she looks like this she’s not sure she really wants to see him. She’s ashamed of herself, but she misses him so much.]

Does anyone know a man named Mark? Mark Grayson? We might be from the same place. I just arrived here, and everything is crazy and confusing but I can at least hope for a familiar face, right?

[She forces a smile, nervously tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. She’s worried about him, worried he got killed and he’ll never get back to her, but if this place is between life and death then maybe it’s likely he’s stuck here, just like she is now.]

Or a woman named Debbie Grayson. Though, really, I’d settle for speaking with anyone who’s not going to kill me.
